Our Earth Hour Gozo 2021 Fringe programme was brought to you with the kind support of Queen Mary University of London, Malta Campus. Stay tuned for changes to our programme due to the new health guidelines announced on 4 March.

Started by WWF and partners as a symbolic lights-out event in Sydney in 2007, Earth Hour is now one of the world’s largest grassroots movements for the environment. Held every year on the last Saturday of March, Earth Hour engages millions of people in more than 180 countries and territories, switching off their lights to show support for our planet.
This year we #switchoff on 27 March between 8:30 and 9:30pm wherever you are. Join us for our programme of events in Gozo and switch off at home and at work to join the Earth Hour Map.

Earth Story Hour
Enter Spacelab’s imaginary forest for Earth Story Hour on 27 March. Children of all ages are welcome to attend and participate in our Open Mic Session with your own Earth-inspired poems.

19:00 – A Milly, Molly story read in Maltese by author, publisher and translator Frans A. Attard who is kindly gifting a FREE BOOK to every attendee.
19:30 – The Lorax by Dr Seuss
20:00 – Spacelab Open Mic Session for children’s Earth-inspired poetry.
60+ Tree Planting
For Earth Hour 2020 we planted 60 acorns. This year, Victor, Mary Anne and the wonderful people at Dreams of Horses Farm in Xaghra, Gozo will welcome and nurture 60+ saplings which we will plant in the fertile soil of the valley of Ta’ l-Ghejun.
Get your boots ready (or indeed go barefoot) and join us on 28th February when we will together plant the trees and generally help out on the farm. #connect2earth #connect2humanity

Earth Film Nights
In the run up to Earth Hour 2021 we bring you Earth Film Nights, a series of movie documentaries to inform and inspire us on our next actions to safeguard our home planet.
Screened at Queen Mary, Malta Campus in Victoria, Earth Film Nights are free-to-attend but booking is required as spaces in the Auditirium are limited.
